The Message
Americans and others have always been inspired by the idea of The American Dream. And now, for so many, the rough landing at the end of the first decade of the 21st Century has become a cause for fear and anxiety. We have discovered that the notion of Rich and Famous can turn out to be an inflated bubble of false ambition leading to a burst of disappointment.
American prosperity will return. As we learn from what we are experiencing, we will redefine success in practical and meaningful terms that will erase fear and restore our confidence and determination to move forward.
Darby Checketts is the author of The New American Prosperity. It is a collection of 39 essays with a common theme. Darby’s commitment is to assist you, your loved ones, and your friends in tackling life’s challenges in a way that demonstrates how SMART you are and how HAPPY you are determined to be. A Personal Letter from the Author
One morning and out of the blue, I was inspired to write a simple essay about the significance of a creaking board in the floor of our hallway. Not long thereafter, a dozen delightful Wrens flew to a tree near my window. They stirred my sense of wonder. My favorite essay was born. Other essays came as a result of the cascade of wisdom that often blesses our lives. The essays were written without any motive, initially. Each essay came from my heart and from the variety of colorful experiences that occurred for me in the winter of 2009. The essays became a book that was meant to be. It is now my gift to you.
My professional career spans nearly four decades. I have operated my own business since 1985 and have been privileged to serve over 300 client organizations worldwide. It has also been my great privilege to serve many individuals as their personal coach and leadership guide. You may conclude that I must be “older,” but I am just sixty-four with better health and greater vitality than ten years ago. I am thankful to possess much vigor, increased wisdom, and an ever-growing love for humanity. These are the blessings of the years that have gone by.
The New American Prosperity begins a new adventure whereby I will reach out to Americans and our friends around the globe at this important time in history. Participate in our blog. Obtain complimentary (FREE) tools and tips that will be regularly posted there. Join me in the quest to be truly SMART and genuinely HAPPY. Look out your window. Wrens may be there.
